My Condolence to the Zerbe Family, I did not know Ted. As a Viet-nam Veteran I know that Ted did his part as ,we all did with no Question. I will consider Ted My Brother. I Thank Ted Family for his Service To Freedom.

Ted was one of the members of the Jolly Green helicopter crew that rescued me from deep in North Vietnam after I had been shot down. It was one of the most daring such missions ever successfully completed, and for his part, Ted was awarded the Silver Star. I had been injured, and it was Ted who comforted me while we were still under fire, even giving me his box lunch. (He went without lunch, a fact I learned years later). Our nation was well served by this kind, brave and dedicated man.

I served with Ted in 1967 in Thailand in the Jolly Green Giants Rescue and Recovery Squadron. Ted exhibited calm under severe fire and enabled missions to be accomplished in short time. That was a critical attribute for a valuable crew member. Ted was a good man.
