Terry L Hoover, Sr

Terry L. Hoover, Sr., 76, of 1045 Masser St. Sunbury, PA passed away at Sunbury Community Hospital on January 4, 2017. Terry was born in Sunbury, PA on July 20, 1940 the son of the late Edward N. and Gladys A. (Steele) Hoover. He married Shirley R. Hollenbach on December 20, 1980.
Terry graduated from Sunbury High School in 1958. He was a laborer for AC&F in Milton for many years while also tending bar at the East Ends Hose Co., which later became full time. He worked at Knoeble’s Grove Amusement Park during the summers. He coached Little League baseball for a number of years and was the softball coach for the East Ends Hose Co. He was an avid card and pinocle player at the Sunbury Senior Center. He was a diehard Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Philadelphia Eagles football fan. He was a member of the Sunbury MOOSE. He was fond of his pets and animals in general.

Terry is survived by his son Terry L. Hoover, Jr. of Northumberland , daughter Tina L. and husband Chris A. Faust of Sunbury, step daughter Tina and husband Jeffry Carr of Selinsgrove, and step son Rick Ricardo and fiance’ Candy Donne of Sunbury, ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, sister-in-law Ruth Hoover-Loveless of Sunbury and two nephews.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, wife Shirley R. Hoover on April 10, 2006, and brother Charles E. Hoover.

Friends and family may call at the David T. Zweier Funeral Home, Inc. 157 Chestnut St. Sunbury, PA on Friday January 6, 2017 from 9 to 10:55 am. A funeral service will be at 11 am. with staff Pastor Rev. Kurt P. Francis officiating. Interment will follow at the Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington, PA.
