Mary E. Herring, 64, of 1070 Mile Post Road, Sunbury, PA passed away at her home on November 13, 2016.  Mary was born in Long Branch, NJ, on September 19, 1952 the daughter of the late Elmer Leroy and Rita V. (McCarthy) Baldwin.  She married the late Randall G. Herring on June 27, 1976 celebrating over forty years of marriage.
After high school Mary received a BA degree in communications from Albright College and then earned a Master's degree in psychology from Bloomsburg University.  She began a career with admissions at Lycoming College ending her work there as director of admissions.  She also worked in admissions with Susquehanna University.  Her career as a wife and mother dove-tailed rearing her four children with tireless volunteer service at St. Monica's school and church. She returned to her career work as teller at Swineford Bank.  She was devoted to conserving the environment encouraging all she knew to recycle and reuse. At home, work or volunteering all knew Mary with a smile as one who lived to make other people happy.
Mary is survived by her children:  John R. and his wife Ashley Herring of Mt. Pleasant Mills, Steven G. and his wife Staci Herring of Milton, Ann E. and her husband Brandon Bidelspach of Northumberland, Kevin J. and his wife Brianne Herring of Sunbury, two grandchildren Jalyn Bidelspach and Quinn Herring, and grandson Brayden Herring on the way, sister Bonnie and husband Mickey Jackson of NJ, brother Joe Baldwin and partner Tricia Flanagan of NJ, and three nephews.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister Barbara Baldwin.
Friends and family may visit at the Saint Pius X Catholic Church 112 Fairview Ave. Selinsgrove, PA on Thursday from 6 to 9 pm and on Friday from 9 am until a funeral mass at 11 am. with Father Michael Pius officiating.  Interment will follow at Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington, PA.
