Earl "Ray" Hicks

Earl “Ray” Hicks, 78, of 705 Chestnut St. Sunbury, PA passed away on October 16, 2017 at Geisinger Medical Center.  Earl was born in Orbisonia, PA on August 17, 1938 the son of the late Raymond D. and Sue E. (Toker) Hicks.

Ray joined the U.S. Air Force in 1956 serving three years and earning his GED.  He was employed as a salesman for Fogerty Homes, worked at ACF and in car sales during his career. He was active at his church, the Mountain Presbyterian Church, when he was healthy.  He enjoyed being outdoors in nature, taking long rides in the car and playing cards with friends.

Ray is survived by his sons Shawn Hicks of Bloomsburg and Steven Hicks of Sydney, Nebraska, one grandson, siblings: Betty Fowler of Riverside, Hulda Losch of McAllisterville, William T. Hicks of Selinsgrove, Suzanne Wands of Selinsgrove, loving companion Barbara Sluga of Sunbury and many nieces and nephews.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Jeanette Walter and Stephen Hicks.

Friends and family may call on Friday, October 27, 2017 from 10 to 11 am. at Mountain Presbyterian Church 2478 Boyles Run Road, Sunbury, Pa. A memorial service will follow at 11 am. with pastor Bob Reich officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
