William E. Buckles

Sunbury - William E. “Bill” Buckles, Jr. 79 of Boy Scout Road, passed away Sat., January 18, 2020 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
He was born July 21, 1940 in Sunbury a son of the late William E., Sr. and Margaret E. (Boyer) Buckles.  On October 31, 1959 he married the former June M. Russo who survives.
Bill was a 1958 graduate of Mahanoy Joint High School.  He gained employment with Kennedy Van Saun, Danville and retired from Celotex, Corp., Sunbury after many years of service.
Mr. Buckles was a member of St. Elias Reformed Church, Sunbury and was a life member of the Northumberland Hook & Ladder.
In addition to his wife of 60 years, Bill is survived by, three daughters and two sons-in-law, Veronica M. and Richard Weikel of Snydertown, Nancy L. and Boyd Lahr of Trevorton, Connie L. Martz of Herndon, eight grandchildren, Shannon L. Rarig, James E. Osman, Randal L. Krallman, Jr., Curtis J. Martz, Jr., Ashley J. Williams, Shandramarie L. Wray, Amanda M. Krallman, Joshua L. Martz, Sr., 11 great-grandchildren, Cody A. Swank, Sara M. Osman, Aiden P. Williams, Marya L. Wray, Charlotte R. Swartzlander, William C. Wray, Timothy J. Shaffer II, Winter R. Martz, Aubrey K.I. Martz, Emma N. Shaffer, Joshua L. Martz, Jr., one sister, Barbara Clark, one brother, Robert Buckles, nieces, nephews and many extended family members.
Friends and family may call from 10:00am to 11:00am Wednesday at St. Elias Reformed Church, Hallowing Run Road, Sunbury where funeral services will follow at 11:00am with Rev. Clair F. Shaffer, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
