Wayne Mantz Obituary

Sunbury – Wayne Richard Mantz, 72, of Market Street passed away unexpectedly January 2 at his home.

Wayne was born August 16, 1948 in Sunbury a son of the late Charles and Catherine (McGlinn) Mantz.

He was a 1967 graduate of Shikallemy High School. 

Wayne served in the Navy following high school.

He attended Grace Lutheran Church in Sunbury.

Wayne owned and operated Mantz Plumbing and Heating until his retirement.

He enjoyed traveling, visiting the beach, and attending collegiate and professional sports games and was an avid Penn State Football fan as well as a Pittsburgh Penguins, Steelers and Pirates fan. He will always be remembered for his love of dancing especially with his daughter and close friends. He greatly enjoyed spending time with Michelle and Ed and his grandchildren.  Wayne also enjoyed his short day trips and time spent with his nephew Charles “Hank” Bidelspach 

Wayne is survived by his daughter Michelle M. Mantz and her boyfriend Ed Skeba of Sunbury, his son Matthew C. Mantz and his girlfriend Erica Thomas of Sunbury, his stepson Dominic Clausen of Northumberland, his stepdaughter Tonya Lance of Camas, Washington, grandchildren Cole, Reagan and Brynne Herrold, Sophia Mantz, Oliver Lance and Isaiah Clausen and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son Wayne R. Mantz, Jr. in infancy, his wife Lucinda (Conroy) Mantz and his 8 brothers and sisters.

Services will be at the convenience of the family. 

 Arrangements are by the Zweier Funeral Home,  157 Chestnut Street, Sunbury.
