Ruth Buckles Obituary

Snydertown - Ruth E. Buckles, 74 was welcomed into the arms of the Lord on December 28, 2019 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
She was born August 27, 1945 in Williamsport Community Hospital, a daughter of the late Earl and Eleanor (Bower) Kepner of Trout Run.
On September 26, 1964 she married Robert B. Buckles of Sunbury and established a home in Snydertown. Her death breaks a marital union of 55 years.
Ruth was a graduate of Montoursville Area High School Class of 1964. She was a valued employee with ConAgra Foods, Milton until her retirement in July 2016. Ruth enjoyed shopping, crocheting, planting flowers, decorating the front window of her home for holidays, fishing with her youngest grandson on her property and taking leisure cruise's in her Polaris Slingshot on sunny days. She was appointed Mayor for the Borough of Snydertown , was an active member of the Snydertown Association Committee (S.A.C.) and the Red Hat Society.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Earl W. and Vivian L. (Troup) Buckles of Snydertown, a daughter, Melissa A. Sanfelice and companion Darryl M. Becker of Conyers, GA, two grandsons, Collin T. Sanfelice (active duty U.S. Marine) and Ian Carter Buckles and a brother, Raymond S. Kepner of Cogan Station.
Ruth's family would like to extend a special thanks to the team at Geisinger Medical Center M.I.C.U. for the excellent care that was provided in her final hours.
Friends and family may visit from 10:00am to 11:00am Thursday at the Zweier Funeral Home, 157 Chestnut Street, Sunbury where the funeral services will follow at 11:00am.
Burial with graveside services will follow in St. Elias Reformed Church Cemetery, Hallowing Run Road, Sunbury.
In lieu of flowers contributions in Ruth's memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675.
