LaRee Ann (Young) Hummel

LaRee Ann Young Hummel, of Sunbury, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2020, in her home in the presence of her family.

LaRee was born in Sunbury on Feb. 14, 1958, to the late Glenn W. and M. Lena (Shaner) Young. LaRee married Timothy A. Hummel on June 19, 1985, in Baltimore, Md. and had celebrated more than 35 years of marriage.

LaRee’s beloved family includes her husband; her sister, Beth Ann (Young) Randolph and her husband Victor of Mount Pleasant Mills; nieces and nephews, Beki (Rebekah) Randolph, Jewel Randolph, and Jesse Randolph of Mount Pleasant Mills, Emily Lakshman and husband Hugh of Philadelphia, and Michelle Hummel of Middleburg; and life-long family friend, Cara Boes of Milton.

LaRee graduated with the class of 1976 from Shikellamy High School, graduated from LPN school in 1978, then later went to RN school and graduated from Geisinger School of Nursing in 1987, first in her class while working full time. She continued to work in local hospitals and clinics until illness forced her retirement in September of 2019.
