Janet E. Pyers

Sunbury - Janet E. (Ebersole) Pyers, 83, left this world to be with her Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ on August 4, 2020. She passed at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
She was born on February 6, 1937 at the Geisinger Hospital a daughter of the late Curtis and Blanche (Hetrick) Ebersole and lived in Overlook until moving to Sunbury in 1950.
She graduated from Sunbury High School Class of 1955. On August 18, 1957 she married Fred W. Pyers who survives.  In addition to being a loving wife to her husband of 63 years she was a devoted and loving mother to her three children; Dennis P. Pyers and wife Jenny L. (Davis) of Carlisle, Lennis P. Pyers of York and Denise L. Pyers, who preceded her in death.  She was also a loving and devoted grandmother to her three grandchildren; Ashley M. Pyers, who preceded her in death, Justin D. Pyers and Lindsay N. Pyers of Carlisle.  She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews.
Janet was the last surviving member of her immediate family and was preceded in death by her sister, Shirley (Ebersole) Duttinger and brother, Warren Ebersole.
Janet’s lifelong desire was to be a wife, mother and homemaker. She was also devoted to her local church family.  She was a member of Seven Points Christian Assembly for many years and served as host to many missionaries and Christian workers passing through the area.  Most recently she attended Front Street Christian Assembly in Sunbury.
Friends and family may call from 10:00am to noon on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at the Front Street Christian Assembly, 1188 N. Front Street, Sunbury where funeral services will begin at noon.  Burial will follow in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
