James Martz Obituary

Sunbury – James W. “Jim” Martz, 64, of Lenig Road, passed away Thursday, February 21, 2019 at his home.

Jim was born August 15, 1954 in Sunbury, a son of the late William J. and Gertrude (Lenig) Martz. February 17, 1979 he married the former Cindy M. Paul who survives.

He was a 1972 graduate of Shikellamy High School and worked for various employers through the years such as Coles Hardware in Northumberland and Tractor Supply in Shamokin Dam.

Mr. Martz was a faithful follower of the Shepard Chapel, daily television broadcast.

He was a talented woodworker and as an avid outdoorsman enjoyed; hunting, fishing, camping and was a collector various items.

In addition to his wife of 40 yaers, Jim is survived by his daughter Tammy L. Martz of Trevorton, granddaughter Shaylee M. Martz of Trevorton, three brothers Robert, Sam and Dan Martz, four step-brothers Robert, Mike, Rick and Joe and two step-sisters Holly and Linda.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, in infancy Kenneth and Steven and step-sister Ann Marie.

Friends and family may visit Monday, February 25th from 10 -11am at the Zweier Funeral Home, 157 Chestnut Street, Sunbury where the funeral service will follow at 11am with Rev. Andrew Weaver officiating. 

Interment will follow in St. Peter’s Church Cemetery, Sunbury.
