Doris E. Rote

Doris E. Rote, 91, of Millville, a resident of The Gardens, passed away on Jan. 16, 2020.
She was born Feb. 11, 1928, in Turbotville, a daughter of the late Charles N. and Grace (Confer) Erdly. On Dec. 29, 1950, she married Jack S. Rote who preceded her in death.

Doris was a 1945 graduate of Turbotville High School. 
She was employed by David Knit Inc., and eventually retired from Leader Nursing Home.
She was a member of Catawissa Avenue United Methodist Church, Sunbury, and was an active member of the Turbotville VFW Auxiliary No. 8206, the Sunbury Legion Post 201 Auxiliary, and the Sunbury Elks. 
Doris was an avid reader.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Thomas S. and Sandi Rote of Naples, Fla.; two stepgrandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews including special niece, Janis E. Reeser of Millville.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles L., Ray N. and Marvin C. Erdly; and one sister, Ada Pursell.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, in the Harleton Cemetery with Pastor Dilip Abayasekara.
