Susan Egan Obituary



Susan K. Egan 64, of Northumberland, Pa. died at the Williamsport Hospital, Thursday.  Susan was born in San Antonia, Tx. March 24, 1954, the daughter of the Wallace D., Jr.& Mary Jane Deininger Kutz who survive in Northumberland.  On Dec. 20, 1986, she married Donald J. Egan, who survives, children Colleen & husband Alex Renn of North’d & William Egan & fiancee’ Sarah Stigerwalt.  Sisters Patricia & David Riegert of North’d, Barbara & Gary Brandt of North’d, brothers Thomas & Rosalie Kutz, of Merritt Island, Fla. & Timothy & Bernadette Kutz of Sunbury. 12 nieces & nephews, 4 great nieces & nephews.  She was a 1972 Shikellay HS and received a Bachelors Degree in Special Education from Bloo:sturgeon University. She was an active member of the P.S.E.A., serving as president and past president.  Sue retired from Shikellamy in 2016. She was a member of St. Monica Church, serving faithfully and taught First Communion. Class at the former St. Thomas Moore church in Northumberland. She served as Vice President of the Northumberland Hook & Ladder Fire Company Social Club. She loved people, lending a listening ear & giving a helping hand. She enjoyed reading, golfing and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at St Monica Church, Sunbury at 12 noon.  Friends may call at the David T Zweier Funeral Home, Inc. Monday evening from 6 to 8 PM. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery, Northumberland.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Geisinger Health Foundation, 100 N. Academy, Ave., M/C 25/76, Danville, Pa. 17822-2576, in memory of Susan and specify to Janet Weis Children’s Hospital.
