Ruth Ann Bromfield, 68, of Selinsgrove, passed away after a courageous battle with illness on Feb. 21, 2018, surrounded by her children. She was born Sept. 17, 1949, in Wilkes-Barre, a daughter of the late Malcolm P. and Edna (Price) Bromfield Schott. Ruth Ann graduated from Lewisburg High School in 1967. She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Millersville University in 1971 and a Master of Education Degree from North Carolina State University in 1974. Ruth Ann started her career teachingJunior College Sociology and spent the majority of her chosen profession teaching gifted students at the Shikellamy School District. During her time supervising gifted students she developed an original computer instruction program entitled Enrichment Avenues. Ruth Ann reluctantly retired from education in 2012 to spend more time with her grandchildren who affectionally refer to her as Nana. In addition to teaching, Ruth Ann served as an advisor for several Shikellamy High School classes and also advised the Key Club for 15 years. She was involved with both the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. Her true concern for her community extended to her church where she served on the Church Council and asSunday School Superintendent. In the community, she previously served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Degenstein Library and the YMCA and held a current position on the Board for Habitat for Humanity and Spreading Antlers Children's Foundation. Ruth Ann is survived by her son, Ryan Thomas Boop and wife Ashley of Lancaster, son, Garrett Malcolm Boop and wife Brigid of York, and daughter, Ellyn Bromfield Ross and husband Justin of Sunbury; grandchildren, Madeline, Lauryn, Malcolm, Lily, Grant, Carly, and Daniel; brothers, Wayne Bromfield of New Berlin and Walter Bromfield of Tampa, Fla.; and six nieces and nephews. Ruth Ann was preceded in death by her parents, and son Adam Randall Boop. Friends and family may visit from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, at Zion Lutheran Church, Fifth and Market streets, Sunbury, followed by the funeral at 2, with Pastor Richard Fangmann officiating. Interment will follow in Hartleton Cemetery, Hartleton. Memorial contributions in Ruth Ann's memory may be made to Spreading Antlers Children's Foundation. Arrangements are by the David T.
