Richard T. Bolig

Richard T. Bolig, 89, of, Sunbury, passed away at Nottingham on September 23, 2018.

Richard was born on September 8, 1929 in Lewisburg a son of the late Jesse and Ethel (Wolfe) Bolig.

He attended Lewisburg schools but graduated Selinsgrove HS in 1947.  He was a life member of Upper Augusta Fire Co., he loved hunting and attending Shikellamy HS football games.

During his working career he was employed by the Sunbury Casket Works, and then Holsum Bakery for 31 years. He was a member of United Lutheran Church.

He married June E. Steinert on August 27, 1949, thus ending a 69 year marriage.

Richard is survived by his wife, June Bolig, his children; Marian C. Battista of Northumberland, Diane M. Savidge and husband Willis of Middleburg, Allen R. Bolig and wife Elizabeth of Sunbury, and Janet Sees and husband John of Sunbury, brother Gerald and wife Florence Bolig of FL, sister Jean Haught of Milton, grandchildren; Jason, Mark, Mary Elizabeth, Erik, Micah, Eileen, Thomas, Jennifer, Jonathan, Hannah and Matthew, great grandchildren; Isabella, Blake, Beau, Wayde, Logan, Mark and Mary Catherine (and 2 expecting), and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters Celesta Leech and Louella Moyer, granddaughter Ann Sees, and son in law Glenn M. Battista

Friends and family may visit at the United Lutheran Church 167 Seven Points Road, Sunbury, PA  on Thursday, September 27, 2018 from 6-8 pm. An additional visition will be held on Friday from 10 am until an 11 am Funeral Service at the church with the Rev. Andrew Weaver officiating. Interment will follow at Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington, PA.

Memorial donations may be made to the Upper Augusta Township Fire Co.
