Raymond B. DeFacis, Jr., 53, of Sunbury passed away at his home on March 24, 2018. He was born in Sunbury on September 26,1964 the son of the late Raymond B., Sr. and Barbara Ann (Dunkin) DeFacis.
He was affectionately called Rayie at home. He graduated Shikellamy HS class of 1983. He married Tina Inch on July 10, 1993.
Ray was a laborer working for Sunbury Textile Mill, Barrier Enterprises, HPI, and last working for Furmano Foods.
Ray’s handle was “Outdrzman;” he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He worked with wood and was handyman around the house. He was an historian maintaining the Reminiscing Sunbury Facebook page with a large following.
He was the City Santa for four years. He and Tina initiated the Santa’s Miracle Gift of Giving, he and Tina’s way of paying it forward, he will be greatly missed. He was a Christian.
Ray is survived by his wife Tina, children Amanda Lee Bruce and husband Jeffrey of Hummels Wharf, son Tyler James DeFacis living at home, and granddaughter Caralynn E. Bruce. He has four wonderful aunts: Peggy Lawrence, Dawn Raker, June Clinton, and Roberta Emmanuel, and cousins, aunts and uncles and “Cooper” his miniature dachshund.
A memorial celebration of life service will be announced later at the convenience of the family.
