Phyllis S (Schmitt) Morrison

Phyllis S. Morrison, 93, of Selinsgrove, PA passed away at Graysonview on October 3, 2017.  She was born in Sugartown, PA on September 17, 1924 the daughter of the late John W. and Helen (Cloud) Schmitt. 
"Phyl"  was an honor roll student at Willistown Elementary School and  Tredyffrin-Easton HS where she also excelled in hockey, basketball, and tennis and graduated in 1942. She was a  member of a Presbyterian Church for seventy-six years, her last home was First Presbyterian Church of Sunbury.  During WW II she served as an observer for the US Army Aircraft Warning Service. She married the love of her life, the late, James A. Morrison on November 9, 1946. He passed in May of 2008.
 She had a thirty year career in the banking business retiring from M & T Bank.  
Phyl enjoyed her family, swimming, music, reading, crosswords puzzles, pets, vacationing in Spring and Fall and the Penn State Nittany Lions!
There are not enough words to describe her tremendous faith, love, and strength. We will all miss her so much.
Phyllis is survived by her daughter Sheryl L. Rathfon of Selinsgrove, granddaughters Jennifer Stahl and her husband Shanen, and Katy Boyle and her fiance Michael; six great grand children,  niece Wheezie and Mark Thomas, and loving great niece Tricia Salter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons Bruce and Gary Morrison, sons in law Roy Louis-Charles, Jr. and John M. Rathfon, II and daughter in law Lonna Salter, siblings Eleanor, Emily and Buddy and four nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may visit the First Presbyterian Church 238 Market St. Sunbury on Saturday from 9:30-11 am. A funeral service will be held at 11 am. with Rev. Lisa Kraus officiating.  Interment will follow at the Shreiner's Cemetery in Shamokin Dam, PA.
