DRAFT OBITUARY:

Mark R. Hoffman, Sr.,  82, of Sunbury, ran for his final touchdown with the Lord at his home on October 10, 2018.

Mark was born on June  8, 1936 in Hummel’s Wharf a son of the late Harry C. and Barbara (Beigh) Hoffman.

Mark was a 1955 graduate of Selinsgrove HS where he excelled at football, basketball and baseball earning him the nickname Moose. He married the love of his life, Nettie …… , following graduation they spent 62 years together raising a family.

Mark worked as a supervisor for Sunbury Textile Mill until his retirement in the mid 1990s. He enjoyed golfing, cheering on, or yelling at, his beloved Phillies, and watching the birds and deer outside the window of his home. He was a family man who loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. You could always find him cheering on his family at different sporting events. He instilled his love of sports and the great outdoors to his family which is carried on to this day.

Mark is survived his only brother, Harry O. Hoffman and his wife Kathleen of Florida, two sons and their spouses, Mark Hoffman, Jr. and his wife Donna of Sunbury, Kenneth Hoffman and his long time companion Jenny Neidig of Sunbury; five grandchildren and their spouses, Desiree Hoffman of Washington DC, Nicole (Hoffman) Irving and Richard Irving of Phoenix, AZ, Tiffani (Hoffman) Wernett and Michael Wernett of Sunbury, Andrew Hoffman and Cara Hoffman of Flagler Beach, FL, and Marissa (Hoffman) Teisher and Joe Teisher of Japan. He is also survived by 6 beautiful great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews all of whom (who) he loved dearly.

In addition to his parents, Mark was preceded in death by his loving wife Nettie, his four sisters, Faye Dock of California, Jean Buhn of Ohio, Wilma Ferry of Port Trevorton, and Myrtle Ray of Selinsgrove.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
