Lee E Rhodes

Lee E. Rhodes, 73, of 223 N. Second St. Sunbury, passed away at his home on June 22, 2017. Lee was born on June 25, 1943 he was the son of the late Lee E. and Amy R. (Britton) Rhodes.

Lee began his working career as a tree trimmer and soon was employed by the Paulson Wire Rope Company as a splicer. During his over thirty years of faithful service he became a supervisor and later retired at the plant’s closing.

Lee was an outdoors-man. He had a passion for all things in nature fishing, hunting, camping, guns, four-wheeling and spending time at the cabin. Lee was a volunteer fire fighter with the Sunbury Steam Fire Company #1 (the Number 1s). He was a NASCAR fan especially of Richard Petty.

In addition to his parents Lee was preceded in death by his wife Joan L. (Crawford) Rhodes.

Surviving are his daughters Connie S. and husband Bill Brown of Sunbury, Brenda L. Rhodes of Sunbury, Leigh Ann and her husband Brett Reichner of Paxinos, eight grandchildren: Nina Reichner, Alexis Reichner, Naomi Hunt, William Brown, Nick Brown, Firman Abdill, Robert Deppen, and Anthony Deppen; eleven great grandchildren, long time companion Mary C. White, four step children: Karl A. White, Michelle and husband Benton Michael, Todd and wife Julie White and Mark White; six step-grandchildren and five step great grandchildren.

Friends and family may visit the David T. Zweier Funeral Home, Inc. 157 Chestnut St. Sunbury on Sunday from 7 to 9 pm. A funeral service will be held Monday at 11 am. with Kurt Francis, staff pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at the Northumberland Memorial Park in Stonington, PA.
