John L Wolfe

John L. Wolfe, 88, of, Carlisle, originally Sunbury, PA passed away on August 31, 2018 at Claremont  Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

John was born on November 23, 1929 at the family home in Sunbury a son of the late George R. and Florence (Rieland)  Wolfe.

He graduated Sunbury HS in 1947.

He served in the U.S. Navy.

He married Esther L. Hoffman on September 28, 1950.  She passed September 4, 2014.

He worked as a product engineering manager for AMP, Q-E Manufacturing, and Forge-Flo. He was a woodcarver. He was a member of the Augustaville Wesleyan Church and taught at times. He loved to work. His hobby after retirement was whatever made his wife happy.

John is survived by his children,  John R. Wolfe and his significant other, Donna E. Ross of Selinsgrove, Timothy L. and Pamela D. Wolfe of Selinsgrove, and Holly E. and James E. Renner of Mechanicsburg, seven grandchildren, Kyle Wolfe, Francie Wolfe-Baumann, Kara Wallace, Tyler Wolfe, Carissa Wolfe, Richard Renner, Jaclyn Gingrich, four great grandchildren, Madison, Alexandrina, Zander, and Kai, his sister Janet Wilson of Shamokin Dam, and four nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brother Marlin Wolfe.

Friends and family may visit the the David T. Zweier Funeral Home, Inc. 157 Chestnut St. Sunbury, PA on Wednesday, September 5, from 6-8 pm followed by a 1 pm Funeral Service on Thursday with the Rev. Randall Bennett, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Orchard Hills Cemetery, Shamokin Dam, PA.
