Northumberland - James H. Mellowship, 89, a resident of the Lewis Building passed away Friday December 28, 2018 at Nottingham Village.
James was born June 5, 1929 London, England a son of the late Robert and Violet (Underwood) Mellowship.
In 1958, James, with wife Doreen, son James & daughter Deborah, sailed to this country on the Queen Mary. They first settled in Kulpmont, where sons Philip & Stephen were born.
Later, "Jim" started working for Harry Shoemaker @ the Quality Print Shop, and then moved on to the Daily Item. He later partnered with Dave Conrad to start Mel-Co printing. After losing his wife, Doreen in 1988, he retired from the Geisinger print shop.
In 1991 he married Mona Nichols. They lived happily as a blended family, until Mona's passing in 2014.
Jim is survived by his children, Mona's children, several grandchildren & great grandchildren.
Jim was an active member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Sunbury. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #267, Sunbury and a regular at the Senior Action Center. He was also a life long fan of the Yankees and the Jets!
To know Jim, was to love him. His sense of humor & his smile were contagious. His passing left a huge hole in many lives. He was always there to help, whether you called him, Dad, Jim, or Pappy......
