James Leonard Bason

Northumberland - James Leonard Bason, 82, passed away on Feb 6, 2019. 

Known to those that loved him as Jim, he was the eldest son of Madalyn and Leonard Bason, born April 11, 1936 in Bloomsburg. Upon graduating from Bloomsburg High School, he spent four years as a medic in the air force then graduated with a degree in electrical engineering from Penn State University. His career was based in production management in the snack food industry.

Jim was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 50 years, Darl Charlotte Robbins who passed away in 2006. Together they had 3 daughters and 7 grandchildren.

Jim is survived by daughters Lynndee Reid-Strumpf of Port Orange,FL, Dr. Lori Bason-Ferdock of Zionsville, PA and Lisa Hicks of Somerset,PA; by his brother Dr. Larry Bason of Lock Haven, PA; by his grandchildren Brittany Reid-Leahy, Logan Thomas James Reid, Andrew James Ferdock, Madelyn Robbin Ferdock, Vincent Ronald Ferdock, Jocelyn Lorene Hicks and Ian Christopher Hicks and by nephews Brad and Steven Bason.

The family would like to publicly announce their immense gratitude to the staff at Nottingham Village for their expert care and compassion but most especially to Anna Crawford for bringing so much peace and comfort to Jim in his final days.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of James to the Spirit Fund of The Burn Prevention Foundation, 236 N. 17th St. Allentown, PA 18104 to help alleviate pain for those suffering severe burn injuries.

    A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 1:00 PM. Services will be at the Zweier Funeral Home, 157 Chestnut St Sunbury, PA. Burial will be privately held at a later date
