Esther Bucher Obituary

Sunbury – Esther A. Bucher, 62 passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at her home.

She was born in Sunbury, February 18, 1957 a daughter of the late Robert H. Krieger, Sr. and the late Marie (Knecht) Krieger Sheaffer.

She was a 1975 graduate of Shikellamy High School and the Stratford Career Institute.

She is survived by her sons, Christopher D. and Nathan F. Bucher, her grandchildren, Kanen, Maverick and Madox Bucher, step-son, William Bucher, step-daughter, Cherie Swartz, brothers and sisters-in-law, Ray and Debra Krieger, Ronald and Barbara Krieger and Richard Krieger, her sister and best friend, Carrie “Patty” Clement and husband Craig, many nieces and nephews who she adored, step-father, James Sheaffer and her sister-in-law, Susan Krieger.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert Krieger, Jr., Ralph Krieger, sister, Dawn Krieger Reichner, sister-in-law, Margaret Krieger and step-son, Ronie Bucher.

Esther’s greatest passion in life were her sons and grandsons. She loved family get togethers and watching and listening to the ocean and specifically looking for dolphins.

She will be missed by family and special friends, Karen Kerstetter Vines, Sue Morris and all who knew her.

She tried to be friendly and kind to everyone, but she could also defend herself when she had to, being straight out of the Third Ward.

Friends and family may visit from noon to 1:00pm, Tuesday at the Shamokin Dam Fire Company, 3343 N. Old Trail, Shamokin Dam followed by a memorial service at 1:00pm with Pastor Zachary Hopple and Walter Jackson officiating.

In lieu of flowers contributions in Esther’s memory may be made to the Shamokin Dam Fire Company, 3343 N. Old Trail, Shamokin Dam, PA 17876.

Arrangements are by the Zweier Funeral Home, 157 Chestnut Street, Sunbury.
