Donald E. Dailey, 88, of Northumberland, passed away peacefully at Nottingham on October 16, 2018.
Don was born on September 17, 1930 in Sunbury a son the late Ralph L. and Ethel (Bower) Dailey, Sr.
He graduated Sunbury HS in 1949. He married Nancy J. Schnee on June 1, 1951; his passing ended a sixty-seven year marriage.
Don was a an avid sportsman, hunting, fishing and photographing wildlife and nature. He was a faithful member of the Union County Sportsmans Club, the Norry #1s, and the Sunbury MOOSE. He was a loyal Green Bay Packers and Boston Red Sox fan. Don loved music, and he had wonderful wit and sense of humor.
He retired after working 44 years for the Pennsylvania (Conrail) Railroad as a brakeman and conductor. He was of the Lutheran faith
Don is survived by his wife, four daughters, Debbie and Chuck Taylor of Northumberland, Dawn and Dave Epler of Lewisburg, Dana and Paul Whary of Coal Township, and Dorcas A. Dailey of Shamokin Dam, 10 grandchildren: Matthew Taylor, Angie Mordan, Elisabeth Taylor, Jed Epler, Casey Balliet, Jenna Epler, Jaymi Sejuit, Jared Whitmer, Jesse Whary, and Jeremy Donald Dailey, 15 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren, and sister, Martha Wadeck of FL.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, step father, Harry Bower, sister Jean Stees, and brother Ralph Dailey, Jr.
