Ronald "Ron M. Ivanitch, Sr. 
Sunbury - Ronald "Ron' M. Ivanitch Sr. passed away March 23, 2024 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

 He was born in Wilkes-Barre, on January 22, 1941, the son of the late Michael and Marie Ivanitch.  

He was married in Sunbury on November 14,1987 to Suzanne (Lehman) Ivanitch with whom he shared 36 years enjoying the same interests and doing the same things together. 
Ron was a people person who enjoying working with his customers and helping them with their final decisions. Ron was also quite a car guy. He had a love for all types of cars, particularly antique and classic cars. His interests were road trips, auto shows and historical destinations and museums. He also enjoyed concerts and theatrical productions. 

Ron was a 1958 graduate of Larksville High School, PA in the Business course. While in high school he started working part time with J. S. Raub Shoe Company of Wikes-Barre.  Upon graduation he immediately began working full time in sales and management training with Raub's. In 1962 he moved to Sunbury as manager of the Sunbury J. S. Raub store. He spent his entire life in sales and retail management. Some of his other work endeavors were with Sunbury Broadcasting Corporation (WKOK) in advertising sales, Broscious Homes of Northumberland in home and construction sales, Smith-Campbell Lincoln Mercury of Sunbury in sales where he became general sales manager and spent most of his working years. He also worked with Beiter's Home Furnishings as a sales associate and retired after ten years. He later became a licensed realtor with the Bowen Agency with the intention of pursuing this in his retirement years. 

Ron was an active member of the Catawissa Avenue United Methodist Church of Sunbury.

He was also a member of Masonic Lodge No. 22, F. and A. M. of Sunbury, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Williamsport Masonic A.A.S.R., 32nd Degree, Northumberland County Historical Society, Antique Automobile Club of America and life member of Americus Hose Company of Sunbury.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Ronald, Jr., and his wife Celena, of Austin, Texas, and stepchildren from a previous marriage, stepson, Stephen K. Arbogast, of Dallas, Texas, and stepdaughter, Susan Lahr and her husband, Jeff of Sunbury, wife's nephews, P. Donald Lehman Jr., Daniel H. Lehman, David M. Lehman and his wife, Leona, Douglas A. Lehman and his wife, Lisa, all of Sunbury and their families. 

In addition to his parents, Ron was predeceased by his brother, Robert J. Ivanitch, in infancy.

Contributions in Ronald's memory may be made to the charity of choice.

A visitation will be held Thursday, March 28, from 11:00am-12:00pm at the Zweier Funeral Home, 157 Chestnut Street,  Sunbury where the funeral service will follow at 12:00pm.

Interment will be private in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
