Robert Alan Shipe, 70, of Turbotville PA passed Monday November 13, 2017 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
He was born August 26, 1947 in Sunbury, son of the late Robert Henry Shipe and Ethel (McHenry) Shipe. He was a 1966 graduate of Shikellamy High School where he was a member of the football team. He was an Eagle Scout who later became an assistant Boy Scout leader for many years and also had helped coached youth football at Warrior Run. He served in the US Air Force, where he met his beloved wife, Mary Lou (Linsley) Shipe. They were married 46 years January 30, 1971. A retired electrician from PPL Montour, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating. He was a lifelong member of Camp Eagle, Boalsburg.
Besides his loving wife, MaryLou, he is survived by his daughter Robyn L. Shipe (Ricky) of Towanda; sisters Lanee E. (Robert) Howell, of Williamsburg, Va., and Diane L. (Harvey) Epstein, of Bridgeton, N.J.; brother Lawrence C. Shipe (Lisa) of Watsontown; and nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends will be received from 6-8 PM Thursday and funeral Friday 10 am at the David T. Zweier Funeral Home Inc., 157 Chestnut St., Sunbury.
Interment will follow in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
