June Eleanor (Wise) Wynn

June 17, 1929 ~ March 29, 2017 (age 87) 87 Years Old

June Eleanor Wynn, 87, a longtime resident of Sunbury, passed away on Wednesday March 29, 2017 at the Sunbury Health and Rehab Center

She was born June 17, 1929 a daughter of the late Oliver and Viola (Hare) Wise of Herndon, Pa

She was married to Fredrick C. Wynn her soul mate and best friend for 41 years until his death in 1992.June enjoyed time with family above all else. She recognized the unique qualities of each family member and was proud of them all. June welcomed many family members and friends into her home and to her dinner table. Cooking was a gift and a passion for her and she had many great family recipes and cooking and baking tips that she was willing share.

She worked for Kinney Shoes in the 1950's and Montgomery Ward in the 1970's but she was most proud of being a homemaker. Her family would tease her about how organized she was, but they appreciated her being the keeper of family history and photo albums.

June was a grade school mother and PTA member when her children were young  and was a Sunbury Bicentenial Belle in 1972. She was a volunteer. for Meals on Wheels and was a past member of the Sunbury Senior Center.

She is survived by four children and their spouses, Jeffrey and Karen Wynn of Mt Joy, Cindy and Tom MacIntosh of Red Lion, Connie and Peter Kistler of Northumberland and Fred and YoungOk Wynn of Gaithersburg, Md.; nine grandchildren, Rachel Wynn, Kate Kistler, Amy Kistler, Andrew Wynn, Julie Wynn, Richard Layton, Barry Layton, Eric MacIntosh and Laurie Grannetti; two great grandchildren Adam and Collin; good friend Teri Bower who was like a daughter to her and many nieces and nephews who were dear to her. 

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by one son, Barry Lee Wynn in 1951 ; three brothers, George, John and Robert Wise and three sisters; Grace Naugle, Anna Cotner and Lucetta Moyer.

Friends will be received from 11 AM to Noon Saturday at the David T Zweier Funeral Home, Inc. 157 Chestnut Street Sunbury followed by a service at Noon. Burial will follow in Northumberland Memorial Park Cemetery, Stonington.

Memorial contributions in June's memory may be made to the Sunbury Community Health and Rehabilitaion Center Activities Department 354 N 11th Street Sunbury, Pa 178101, or to the food pantry or diaper pantry of St Matthew's Episcopal Church 32 N Front Street Sunbury Pa., 17801
