Deanna Loy Hare, 78, of 240 S. 10th St., Sunbury, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, surrounded by her family. Deanna was bornApril 26, 1938, in Sunbury, a daughter of the late Francis O. and Laura A. (Reichenbach) Campbell. On June 23, 1956, she married Robert L. Hare who preceded in death.

Deanna was a 1956 graduate of Sunbury High School. She was a proud Sunbury Owl and served as the class secretary for many years. 
Deanna was first and foremost a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and home-maker, with the exception of working as Judge of Election for the Ninth Ward. 
She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church (formally Albright), and the Sunbury Eagles and Friendship Hose Co.
Deanna loved spending time with her family and grandchildren, she was a Girl Scout Leader and volunteered with her children’s PTA. She loved spending time with her husband, especially travelling to Florida and attending craft shows with him. She enjoyed playing scratch offs, having her nails painted, making trips to casinos with her friend Sally, rooting for Penn State, and attending to her grand dog, “Roscoe.”

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Loy J. Hare, Vicki D. and James Kauffman, Robert L. Jr. and Michelle Hare, and Tonya M. and Charles Reader, all of Sunbury; eight grandchildren, Joseph W. Kurtz III and fiancée Jennifer, Angela M. Brouse, Michele J. Resch and her husband Andrew, Mariah L. Hare, Amanda M. Kauffman and fiancé Nicholas, Samuel R. Hare and fiancée Mandee, Katherine M. Kauffman, and C.J. Reader Jr.; four great-grandchildren, Lexus C. Kurtz, Shelby J. Brouse, Ashlyn N. Kurtz, and Saleen A. Brouse; three sisters, Shirley Maurer, of Selinsgrove, Jean Hare, of Sunbury, and Donna Sue Dore, of Florida; and one brother, Chad Betts, of Selinsgrove; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one sister, June Musselman.

Friends and family may visit from 9 to 10:55 a.m. Saturday at the David T. Zweier Funeral Home Inc., 157 Chestnut St., Sunbury, followed by the funeral at 11, with Pastor Ronald Troup officiating. 
Interment will follow in Pomfret Manor Cemetery, Sunbury.
