Charles E. "Sam" Spade

Charles E. “Sam” Spade, 70 of 171 S. Main St. Herndon, PA passed away at Sunbury Hospital on September 1, 2017. He was born  in Sunbury on January 20, 1947 the son of the late Charles E. and Verna M.(Herb) Spade. He married Donna Chubb on October 7, 1967; she passed February 29, 2012.

Sam worked in various businesses during his career primarily as a truck driver for Mandata Poultry and then in sanitation for Holsum Bakery.

Sam was a practical joker. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and butchered meats making the best sausage. He was a member of the Herndon Fire Company and the Mandata Legion..

Sam was preceded in death by his parents and wife Donna.

Sam is survived by his daughter Tracy L. and David Sciascia of Sunbury, grandson Hunter L. Ross, siblings: Melvin L. and Patricia Spade of Herndon, Vera and Rudy Wertz of Millersburg, David Spade of Herndon, Deanna and Earl Latsha of Sunbury, sister in law Carol Chubb of Shamokin, brother in law Ronald and Suzanne Chubb of Coal Township, and nieces and nephews.
