Charles R. "Nick" Lesher

Charles R. "Nick" Lesher, 80, of Sunbury, passed into the hands of the Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2016.
He was born March 1, 1936, in Sunbury, a son of the late Charles R. and Lorena M. (Stevenson) Lesher. On March 2, 1963, he married the former Linda Hackenburg and his death breaks a marital union of 53 years.

Nick was a 1953 graduate of Sunbury High School. He served in the 68th Military Police at Camp Darby, Livorno, Italy from 1958 to 1960. He was extremely proud of his military service.
His business career was with Baum's Sporting Goods, Real French Cleaners, Moore Business Forms, Arnold Business Forms, and he formed NL Sports in June 0f 1973 and Compu Business Forms in 1987.
Nick was a 50-year member of Otterbein United Methodist Church, where he was "Man of the Year" in 1993, and treasurer of Little Otters Nursery School for 20 years. He was a 50-year member and Past Master of Masonic Lodge 22, Sunbury, a member of Tall Cedars of Lebanon, a life member of the East Ends Hose Company; a member of Gideons International, the Elks, and the American Legion Post 201.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Kim Bartman, of Maryland, and Curtis Lesher and wife, Lisa, of Sunbury; and one brother and sister-in-law, Terry G. and Janette Lesher, of Sunbury.

Friends and family may visit from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, December 8, 2016 and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Friday, December 9, 2016 with a Masonic service at 10:45, followed by a funeral service "Cheers Nick" at 11, at Otterbein United Methodist Church, 436 Vine St., Sunbury, with the Rev. Dr. Kenneth Gunter officiating.
Interment is in Pomfret Manor Cemetery, Sunbury.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Nick's memroy may be made to Otterbein United Methodist Church, 436 Vine St., Sunbury, PA 17801, or Masonic Lodge 22, Market Street, Sunbury, PA 17801.
