Betty F (Herman) Williams

Betty F. Williams, 92, of N. Old Trail, Selinsgrove, passed away on December 24, 2017 at Geisinger Medical Center.  Born in Sunbury on July 21, 1925, the daughter of the late Ira A. and Mary A. (Wagner) Herman, and graduated from Sunbury High School in the class of 1943.  She married Paul Williams on January 11, 1946, who passed on June 10, 2011, after sixty-five years of marriage.

Betty was a member of the First Reformed U.C.C. for eighty years.   She worked as a seamstress for many years, at various clothing factories including David Knit in Northumberland, where she served as the union chair lady for twelve years.  Betty also served as past president of the American Legion Post 201 Auxiliary and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary.  She enjoyed family camping trips to Wildwood, NJ, or visiting family in Indiana, or playing BINGO, Scrabble and card games.

Betty is survived by her children:  Paul Williams Jr. (Sharon), Stephen Williams (Patricia), James I. Williams, Patricia A. Barrett (Joseph), Seth J. Williams, and Maryann Kutz; fifteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul and brothers Charles and Leo Herman.

Friends and family may visit the David T. Zweier Funeral Home, Inc. at 157 Chestnut St.Sunbury, PA on Friday from 10 to 11 am. A funeral service will be held at 11 am.with Rev. Janna Born Larsen officiating. Interment will follow in Orchard Hills Cemetery.
